Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in both the body and the mind—sometimes as panic, nausea, tension, or a sense of overwhelm that feels hard to turn off. It can also show up in patterns of rumination, “what if” thinking, mental replaying, and a persistent urge to prepare for or prevent anything that could go wrong.

I specialize in working with high anxiety presentations where the mind has learned to stay busy in an effort to create safety. This often includes difficulty tolerating uncertainty, a strong drive to figure things out, and cycles of overthinking, reassurance seeking, and avoidance.

In our work together, we focus less on trying to think your way into certainty and more on helping your nervous system build the capacity to sit with uncertainty without becoming overwhelmed by it. This includes increasing trust in your ability to cope with discomfort, tolerate difficult emotions, and respond to life rather than trying to prevent it.

While traditional talk therapy can be helpful, it can sometimes unintentionally reinforce anxiety when it becomes another space for rumination or reassurance seeking. My approach is designed to gently interrupt those cycles and help you move toward a more grounded sense of safety and flexibility.
